What changed
A public log of every time we added a country or changed what a rule means, so you can see how fresh the information is.

Qatar and the Philippines: sources re-read after the daily check flagged them
Qatar's legal portal no longer shows the law text without scripts, so the quotes now come from the same English text on FAO's FAOLEX database, and the warning no longer cites the portal's old notice. The Philippines BAI page no longer lists what the health certificate must state, so that step now says only what the page still shows and tells you to ask BAI.
Fixed
US entry: the CDC Dog Import Form needs a photo of the dog
The form instructions ask you to attach a photo showing the dog's face and body. For a dog under one year old the photo must be taken within 15 days before it arrives in the United States. Trips to the US now show this step, with its dates for young dogs.
Added
Entry rules: Türkiye, Peru and Hawaii
Türkiye (from the Agriculture Ministry's border veterinary offices and its certificate): microchip, rabies vaccination after the chip, a rabies antibody test at least 30 days later with a 3-month wait before entry, certificate within 2 days of travel, at most 2 animals. Peru (from SENASA): export health certificate with current vaccines, parasite treatment, inspection on arrival. Hawaii (from the state Animal Quarantine Branch): two rabies vaccinations, a FAVN blood test with a 30-day wait, tick treatment within 14 days, documents 10 days ahead, otherwise up to 120 days of quarantine.
Added
Short summaries, under review: Colombia, China, the Philippines, South Africa and Thailand
Each shows what its authority publishes and says what we could not read: Colombia (ICA resolution, an update exists), China (customs announcement; the exempt-country list and attachments are missing), the Philippines (permit and arrival procedure; the age and vaccine circular is missing), South Africa (an old department protocol) and Thailand (an old DLD page). They are re-checked every 30 days.
Fixed
Trips to Hawaii no longer ask for a USDA endorsement
The US leaving rules treated Hawaii as a foreign destination, so a trip from the mainland showed a USDA endorsement and fee. A trip within the US needs neither.
Added
Entry rules: New Zealand
From the Ministry for Primary Industries' 2026 Import Health Standard for cats and dogs: only pets from approved countries can come in. From rabies-free countries (Japan, Singapore and others) an official ID check and a quarantine booking; from most other approved countries (the US, UK, Canada, most of Europe) a rabies vaccination, a rabies blood test 3 to 12 months before travel, an import permit applied for at least 8 weeks ahead, and at least 10 days in quarantine. Dogs also need tests for several diseases. Pets from countries not on the approved list, such as India, cannot be imported. Pets coming from Australia are not covered yet.
Added
Entry rules: Malaysia
From Malaysia's quarantine service (MAQIS) and the veterinary department (DVS): import permit through an agent, ISO microchip, rabies vaccination, veterinary certificate within 7 days of export, and quarantine of at least 7 days unless your pet comes from a scheduled country (the UK, Ireland, Japan, Sweden, New Zealand, Singapore and, since December 2025, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Portugal and several others). Pets from Australia have their own Hendra test. Two DVS documents disagree on rabies testing and quarantine length; the page says so.
Updated
Singapore: rules now checked against the official veterinary-conditions PDFs
The health certificate must be dated no more than 7 days before export; core vaccinations at least 2 weeks before export; the arrival inspection booked at least 5 working days ahead (we show 7 calendar days); pets from Schedule I and II places must have lived there for 6 months or since birth; adopted or recently bought pets need 10 days of home quarantine from Schedule II places.
Added
Entry rules: cats going to Australia
Australia's Group 3 pathway for cats (from the DAFF cat guide): rabies antibody test with the 180-day wait, import permit, tick and flea treatment from 21 days before export, two internal parasite treatments, endorsed health certificate, and the ban on hybrid cats such as Bengal and Savannah. Dogs are unchanged.
Added
Leaving rules from the national authorities for Cyprus, Lithuania, Hungary, France, Latvia, Romania and Luxembourg
Each quoted from the national authority: the Veterinary Services (Cyprus), VMVT (Lithuania), Nébih (Hungary), service-public.gouv.fr (France), PVD leaflet (Latvia), ANSVSA (Romania) and the ALVA agriculture portal (Luxembourg, where official vets authenticate the health certificate by appointment). Where an authority publishes little, the page says so. Leaving rules for Bulgaria and Malta are still under review: their national pages could not be read.
Added
Leaving rules from the national authorities for 27 more countries
National procedures for taking a dog or cat out of Austria, Belgium, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland, each quoted from the national authority's own page, and Qatar's leaving rules from its Veterinary Quarantine Law. Where an authority publishes little, the page says so ('limited official guidance'). They apply only when you leave for a country outside the EU and the countries that follow EU pet rules.

Updated
Qatar, Saudi Arabia, India and Brazil moved from 'under review' to verified
Qatar's entry rules now also use the Veterinary Quarantine Law (permit, health certificate, 72-hour notice, entry ports; the portal says its English text is not official). Saudi Arabia's leaving rules lost a breed warning the live page no longer supports. India's and Brazil's pages are captured in full; the open points (India's Advance NOC timing, Brazil's page changing country by country) are stated on the pages.
Added
Exit rules for every country we cover for entry (except Qatar)
South Korea (APQA certificate), Brazil (MAPA CVI with destination-specific request windows), Chile (SAG CZE), Argentina (SENASA CVI), Mexico (SENASICA CZE), Saudi Arabia (MEWA export permit), Switzerland (cantonal certificate; short), the 27 EU states (no common exit rule; return on the passport) and Norway (no published exit page; return on the passport). A pet's round trip is now covered for each of these countries.

Added
Entry rules: India (short summary)
AQCS baggage-rule page: health certificate, rabies vaccination within 12 months and more than a month before embarkation, Advance NOC (INR 1,000), six entry ports. Marked under review: the Advance NOC timing is unclear on the official pages.

Added
Exit rules: Australia

Added
Entry rules: Saudi Arabia (short summary)
From MEWA's Naama permit pages: microchip, at least 4 months old, rabies vaccination with at least 6 months left, original health certificate, permit requested 15+ days ahead and valid 30 days, banned breeds. Marked under review: the page lists no blood test or quarantine rules.
Added
Entry rules: Qatar (short summary)
From the government portal: older than 4 months, rabies certificate, vaccinations at least 30 days before travel, one-month import permit, banned breeds. Marked under review: the source is short and dated 2020.
Added
Entry rules: Brazil
Portaria MAPA 741/2024: original CVI valid 60 days, rabies vaccine for pets 90 days and older (departure at least 21 days after a first shot), parasite treatment within 15 days and a vet exam within 10 days before the certificate is issued.
Added
Entry rules: South Korea

Switzerland (FSVO groups 1 to 3, licence for rabies-risk countries) and Norway (Mattilsynet guide groups, tapeworm treatment for dogs, entry through Oslo or Storskog).
Fixed
EU rules: Norway is an EEA member
Norway was missing from the EU list, so trips from Norway to the EU wrongly asked for a rabies blood test. Norway is now treated as intra-EU, which we do not cover yet.
Added
Entry rules: Mexico, Singapore, Hong Kong and the UAE
SENASICA (including the 2026 screwworm rule for US dogs), AVS Schedules I to III, AFCD Groups I, II, IIIA and IIIB, and MOCCAE's low-risk list.
