- To travel outside the EU, the import conditions set by the destination country's veterinary authority must be met. The person travelling with the animal should find the current conditions from that authority or from the country's embassy.
- SVS charges an administrative fee under the Czech fees act: 200 CZK for an export veterinary certificate for one animal, 500 CZK for more than one animal, and 100 CZK for the official verification of a passport or other identification document of the animal.
- If the destination requires a veterinary certificate but has no import conditions of its own, SVS offers a general veterinary certificate for dogs and cats. You can use it only if the destination's veterinary authority agrees.
- Planning to bring your pet back to the EU? After a short stay in a non-EU country you can skip the 3-month wait after the rabies blood test, but only if, before you leave the EU, your pet was vaccinated against rabies, passed a successful titer test, and your vet recorded both in its EU pet passport. So do the blood test before you go.
