The steps the authorities in Cyprus require before your pet leaves, mostly the health certificate and who has to sign or endorse it. The destination adds its own requirements on top: pick it below, or make a dated plan.

Limited official guidance. Veterinary Services publishes little for this route. Everything it does say is here, with its wording. The Veterinary Services' page says only that the destination's rules apply and that the owner must obtain the documents. It describes no certificate, deadline, endorsement or fee for leaving Cyprus: ask your District Veterinary Office (Animal Health and Welfare Division: animal.health@vs.moa.gov.cy).

    • The veterinary rules for taking a pet out of Cyprus differ from one country to another. You (the owner, or the person responsible for the animal) must make sure the pet meets the destination country's entry requirements and obtain the necessary documents before the pet travels.When: You do not travel to any EU country, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino or Vatican City
    • To come back to the EU from a country not on the EU list, the 3-month wait after the rabies blood test does not apply if the pet's passport shows the test was done, with a positive result, before it left the EU.     • Planning to bring your pet back to the EU? After a short stay in a non-EU country you can skip the 3-month wait after the rabies blood test, but only if, before you leave the EU, your pet was vaccinated against rabies, passed a successful titer test, and your vet recorded both in its EU pet passport.
