Other vaccinations for pet travel: what it is and who requires it
Core vaccines some countries add to rabies. What a other vaccinations is, why authorities require it, and the exact requirement in every country we cover, quoted from the official source.
Updated 2026-10-12
Besides rabies, some authorities name the other core vaccines they expect a dog or cat to have: for dogs usually distemper, adenovirus (hepatitis) and parvovirus, sometimes leptospirosis; for cats usually panleukopenia, rhinotracheitis and calicivirus.
What to watch for
- Look at the destination page for the exact list and the timing: some countries accept a lab test instead of vaccinating against leptospirosis.
